EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree and State Board
for Educator Certification (SBEC) professional school Counselor
certificate. A minimum of one year of
full-time, wage-earning experience as a school counselor required. Experience as a school counselor with
PARTIAL SUMMARY OF THE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists the Administrator
of Counseling and Testing in the development and maintenance for the counseling
program for the District. Conducts staff
development for school counselors in student test administration, guidance
placement, career planning, career orientation, counseling techniques, and
counseling methods. Conducts assessment
to determine the needs for staff development.
Assists with the auditing of campus counseling programs to include the
quality of testing, student placement, and the use of efficient practices. Works collaboratively with others to define
counseling program goals and objectives which support the District’s
mission. Assists with the development
and maintenance of various training manuals for professional staff. Provide new hire training to all counselors,
testing specialists and testing clerks.
Serves as on-site investigator for GED and TABE irregularities and provides
written reports of findings and recommendations for test security improvement. Assists with the development of policies and
procedures regarding the testing program.
