Knowledge of the ZEND IDE, Subversion, Oracle (SQL/PLSOL), PeopleSoft 9.0 HRMS and Financials (including, but not limited to Application Engine, SQR, Integration Broker), PHP, HTML, JAVASCRIPT JQUERY, PEAR, XML and XSLT is preferred.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Six years of fulltime wage earning experience in web or desktop application development in a browser based or computer desktop environment.

 

APPLICATION DEVELOPER II - $37,944

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university with significant coursework in Computer Science (or related degree) with two years of fulltime wage earning experience in web or desktop application development.

 

**OR**

Eight years of fulltime wage earning experience in application development in a web or desktop application development.

 

APPLICATION DEVELOPER III - $44,840

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university with significant coursework in Computer Science (or related degree) with four years of fulltime wage earning experience in web or desktop application development.

 

**OR**

Masters Degree from an accredited college or university and one year of fulltime wage earning experience in web or desktop application development.

 

**OR**

Ten years of fulltime wage earning experience in web or desktop application development.

 

APPLICATION DEVELOPER IV - $51,744

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university with significant coursework in Computer Science (or related degree) with six years of fulltime wage earning experience in web or desktop application development.

 

**OR**                              

Masters Degree from accredited college or university and two years of fulltime wage earning experience in web or desktop application development.

 

**OR**

Twelve years of fulltime wage earning experience in web or desktop application development. Experience in object oriented programming, PHP, and JAVASCRIPT.

 

APPLICATION DEVELOPER V – $58,778

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited University with significant coursework in Computer Science (or related degree) with eight years of fulltime wage earning experience in web or desktop application development.

Masters Degree from an accredited college or university and three years of fulltime wage earning experience in web or desktop application development.

 

**OR**                              

Fourteen years of fulltime wage earning experience in web or desktop application development. Experience in object oriented programming, PHP, and JAVASCRIPT is required.

 

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS: 

·    Knowledge of practices, principles, and techniques of programming in a client server environment.

·    Knowledge of personal computer and network hardware, operating systems, software, and peripherals.

·    Knowledge of relational database structures.

·    Skill in the use of computers and related equipment in a stand-alone or local area network environment.

·    Skill to write, test, debug and maintain computer programs.

·    Skill in problem-solving techniques.

·    Skill to perform detail work accurately.

·    Skill to coordinate with other staff, departments, officials, agencies and organizations.

·    Skill to plan work in order to meet established guidelines.

·    Skill in technical writing and preparing technical reports and documentation.

·    Skill to develop custom applications for use in a stand-alone or network environment.

·    Skill to develop, implement, and evaluate standards and procedures.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILTIES AND DUTIES:

·    Analyzes education department needs as outlined by the Windham School District Administration regarding detailed data processing equipment requirements and capabilities.

·    Assists in analyzing proposed automated date processes in terms of resources and cost justification.

·    Documents existing and proposed computer applications.

·    Develops automated systems.

·    Codes, prepares test data, tests, debugs programs and maintains complex applications.

·    Monitors and assists in evaluation, maintenance and applications development.

·    Analyzes, reviews, and revises programs to increase operating efficiency.

·    Monitors computer system performance to achieve maximum utilization of system software and hardware.

·    Assists in the training of other computer services employees as assigned by the supervisor.

·    Performs duties in a professional, ethical, and responsible manner as defined in the SBEC Code of Ethics and Standard Practices for the Texas Educators.
